Open Question: Why do you think so many Christians struggle with the idea of God being able to use The Big Bang to create?

Are they simply repeating the anti-Big-Bang rhetoric (and T-shirt slogans) of fundamentalist preachers OR do they think that God is somehow too weak to use an expansion of the singularity to produce the universe we observe today?

Or is it simply that Fundamentalist Christians think that the Big Bang Theory attacks their dogmatic belief in Bishop Usher's genealogy and Young Earth timelines?   (So if they somehow thought that the Big Bang Theory could be compatible with a young earth position, would they be willing to accept the BBT?)

Open Question: Is there a genealogy thing out there that doesn't cost a fortune?

My mother-in-law has a computer program she purchased, but I'm really not that interested, my nephew just wanted to know if I knew, so I said I'd see what I could find.

Open Question: Did My Sister give birth to me?

I am now 26, but since I was young I always wanted a genealogy report because I was interested in my history.  My "Mother" claims to be bipolar and when she gets upset with me, she calls me an inbreed m-effer, mongoloid, etc.  She was mean to my sister as well growing up, and my sister is twelve years older than me.  She has had abortions throughout her life, but I feel that now is the time for the secrets to be out because everything just does not sit well with me.

My "Mother" does not communicate with her Sister in California which btw, they took a trip there right about the time I was conceived, from what I was told and  I never felt a "real" connection with my "Mother" but I did with my "Sister" and "GrandMother"growing up.  My Grandmother never wanted to be called Grandmother but Oma and she used to sing to me a song to me and I will not forget it.  she sung a song saying "Oh My Lilly" could these be a sign or could I just be digging to deep?

When I was a child My Sister and I lived with my Grandmother, who may have been my Great Grandmother.  My Mother is a pathological liar, and I just feel in my bones that something is being kept a secret.  My sister Moved to Georgia years ago and had her first child when I was 5 which that could possibly be my Sister,  I wish there was a Prophet, or Spiritual Advisor who would help me with this.

I hope this doesn't sound too confusing, and I appreciate all the help I can get, This is a serious matter to me. On the birth certificate it has my "Mother's" name but no information about my father, Then she always tells me that I have a racist man's last name.

They have always treated me as different, and I have been called many hurtful names and never understood why.  Could someone shine more light on this subject.

BTW...I never seen pictures of my "Mother" pregnant with me.  Then she said that My Sister's Father died when she was a child.

Open Question: Looking for great non-fiction books to read.?

I am very interested in concepts of immortality, ancient astronaut theories, genealogy, DNA, astrophysics, and metaphysics.  I am, however, a novice in all of these subjects and would like to greatly expand my knowledge of them.  Thanks in advance.

Open Question: How do I find the surname of my father's biological father?

I have a deep interest in genealogy, and I can't find a way to discover my true surname. My father was adopted and hasn't contacted his biological parents (that I know of). I don't know their fates, but I would really like to know how to at least figure out what my grandfather's surname was. Thank you for your answers. Smiley

Open Question: What is the best source for public information on birth, marriage, and divorce records for Tennessee?

I am looking for birth, marriage, and divorce records for East Tennessee. I am having no luck on Ancestry or Genealogy. What is the best site to get the most information for the least amount of money? In particular, I am looking for 1950 to 2010.
